Most students respond to redirects

What is the function of the safe seat?

A time to get away from the other kids and environment to refocus. It’s an accountability thing - you knew what to do and chose not to do it.

One student has a calming spot because he needs to remove himself. It’s not the safe seat because he associates it with being in trouble.

Students get sent there immediately for unsafe bodies.

I don’t use it very often so it’s not a big deal here.

Students fill out a think sheet.

The students find other spots to calm down.

Training?

Not really. More it’s just put in there. There used to be more training but it has dropped off.
